Boss builds the fire and explosion protection that makes a combustible-dust system legal to run: abort gates, venting and isolation. We size it against your dust data and install it as part of the system rather than as somebody else's scope.
What we supply
High-speed abort gates that divert burning material and smoke to atmosphere instead of returning it into the plant. Deflagration venting to NFPA 68, including flameless venting where relieving outdoors is not possible. Isolation hardware to NFPA 69. Backdraft dampers and spark detection.
Worth being precise about, because it is routinely got wrong: an abort gate handles sparks, fire and contaminated return air. It is not fast enough to stop a deflagration — that is what venting and isolation are for, and a system that has one without the others is not protected.
Sized against your DHA, not a catalog
Vent area follows from the Kst and Pmax values in your dust hazard analysis and the volume and strength of the vessel. We size against those numbers and document the basis, so when an inspector or your insurance carrier asks why the protection is configured the way it is, the answer is in writing.
