Plastics & compounding

Plastics operations generate two different problems from the same line: fine combustible resin and additive dust at handling points, and thermal fume from the melt.

A close-up of coloured plastic granules, the feedstock for compounding.

What we design for

  • Fine resin and additive powder, combustible in most formulations
  • Static generation in conveying — an ignition source in its own right
  • Thermal degradation fume at extruders and dryers
  • Regrind and pelletizing dust

How we approach it

Static is the underrated hazard here. Plastic dust moving through duct generates charge, which is why bonding and grounding the entire run is part of the design rather than an afterthought at inspection time.

Every system is sized to your process rather than pulled from a catalog. We supply the collector, fabricate the ductwork and hoods in our own shop, and handle the mechanical install in-house — one crew from drawing to start-up.
